In preparation for life after graduation, Mindoro State University is conducting a two-day professional development program titled LIFT MinSUans – Learning Career Strategies, Improving Skills, Focusing and Thriving for Excellence in the World of Work on June 10 and 11, 2025 at the MinSU Main Campus in Alcate, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro.
On its first day (June 10, 2025), students were engaged in various discussions centered on labor education and job readiness. The program opened with insights from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), as Labor and Employment Officer Mark Oliver V. Maano and NSPR Personnel Alexis T. Enage discussed labor laws and employment rights that graduating students need to know.
Ms. Crizandria M. Madrigal, Family Welfare Officer from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), also gave a talk on how to prepare for overseas employment for students planning to work abroad.
Practical career-building advice was also shared during the session. Mr. Dave Peralta, a faculty member of MinSU Main shared tips on how to write application letters, resumes, and prepare for interviews, while Ms. Kyla Danila Mayupao, Psychometrician of MinSU, provided tips on how to pass the board exam.
Meanwhile, Ms. Maricar V. Jose, Board Secretary I of MinSU, also gave a talk on the right attitudes toward job hunting, encouraging students to be confident, professional, and determined.
Today (June 11), the program continues with the Spiritual Awareness Program, which focused on helping students reflect on their values, purpose, and emotional readiness for life after college. The session included prayer, sharing, and inspirational messages.
The same LIFT MinSUans program is also being conducted at MinSU Calapan City Campus and MinSU Bongabong Campus, ensuring that all graduating students across the university receive the same support and guidance.
Through this program, MinSU continues to prepare its students not only for employment, but also for a meaningful and purpose-driven life.
