In a powerful show of solidarity and support, Mindoro State University (MinSU) celebrated Pride Month through a week-long series of vibrant and meaningful activities from July 1 to 4, 2025, spearheaded by its Women, Gender, and Development (WGAD) Office. With a firm commitment to inclusivity and equality, the university reaffirmed its role as a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.

One of the highlights of the celebration was MinSU’s participation in the KalaPride Month Celebration hosted by the City Government of Calapan. Alongside local organizations and advocacy groups, MinSU representatives joined the event to celebrate love, diversity, and unity. The presence of the university in this citywide celebration reflected its ongoing dedication to creating an environment where everyone, regardless of gender or sexual identity, feels seen and respected.

On its campuses, MinSU organized Campus Pride Walk and Talk events across its campuses. Students, faculty, and staff were able to walk together in pride and unity, while also engaging in open discussions about gender identity, equality, and inclusion. It also provided a platform not just for celebration, but also for education and empathy, a space where stories were shared, stereotypes were challenged, and voices were heard.

Another notable activity was a special lecture on HIV awareness and other pressing issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community and the youth. The session aimed to educate participants on sexual health, debunk harmful myths, and promote a culture of compassion and informed care. By addressing these sensitive topics head-on, MinSU encouraged a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially in campus settings.

Through these initiatives, MinSU is not just celebrating Pride Month, it is cultivating a campus culture rooted in respect, diversity, and inclusiveness. The university’s message is clear: Pride is more than a moment - it’s a movement. And at MinSU, everyone is welcome to walk with pride.
