Julia Ysabel D. Lauzon, a Grade 10 student of the Mindoro State University Main Campus - Laboratory High School secured another podium finish in the Extemporaneous Speech competition as she bagged the 1st runner-up spot during the Academic Day of the annual Provincial Linggo ng Kabataan, held at the Provincial Capitol, Calapan City, on August 29, 2025.
Following her championship win at the municipal level, Lauzon represented Victoria in the said event together with other participants of the municipality. Despite her being the youngest, she proved her excellence and gave a well-delivered speech.
The grade 10 student was coached by Ma'am Venus R. Alcantara and they were accompanied by DRRM Coordinator, Sir Melvin C. Aguba.
Meanwhile, the Quiz Bee team composed of Mik Anghelo P. Ortega, Alexa Kate C. Valdez, and Kate Nicole P. Roda also made their mark by earning the 2nd Runner-Up spot. Students likewise participated in the Junior Officials program, with Hyacinth Ashir O. Serapion serving as Municipal Mayor for a day, Alexis Rein D. Brucal as SB Member, and Mc Henry F. Caringal as MLGO Officer.
These achievements, with the support of the local government of Victoria through SK Federation President, SK Josh Pypers Macalintal, paved the way for the municipality of Victoria to be hailed as the overall champion of this year's Linggo ng Kabataan.
The Provincial LNK 2025 aimed to promote local youth actions for sustainable development goals and beyond. It provides a platform for the youth to showcase their talents, skills, and advocacies.
