A stronger commitment to global sustainability was on full display as the university community came together to commemorate the adoption of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), today, September 25. The activity, spearheaded by the Research, Innovation, Technology and Extension (RITE) Department and supported by all three campuses, underscored the institution’s dedication to creating a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future for all.

Highlights of the commemoration included the SDG Corners, set up in various areas across the three campuses as part of a friendly contest that encouraged creativity and advocacy for sustainability.

Alongside these were the SDG Wear, which showcased sustainability as a lifestyle that never goes out of style, and the Creative Shots, which captured bold and artistic expressions of advocacy for the Global Goals. The winners of these contests will be announced on Monday, September 29, 2025.

“As we work toward the 2030 Agenda, we are reminded that even the smallest contributions can create meaningful change,” said Asst. Prof. Leonel C. Mendoza, OIC-Vice President for RITE. He stressed that every step, no matter how simple, helps bring communities closer to achieving the SDGs.

Through initiatives like these, the university reinforces that the SDGs are not merely aspirations but a living mission - to innovate, transform communities, and ensure that no one is left behind.
