Mindoro State University (MinSU) successfully staged the i-BIBES Demo Day 2025 at the MinSU Main Campus Auditorium, Alcate, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro on August 29, 2025.
This brought together students, faculty researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to present breakthrough solutions addressing key community challenges.
This year’s competition focused on four banner programs: Food Innovation, Biowaste Conversion, IoT for Sustainable Communities, and Smart Agriculture and Fisheries. The event also served as a culmination of months of mentorship under MinSU’s i-BIBES program, providing participants with the opportunity to pitch their ventures before potential investors, partners, and evaluators.
Distinguished panel members included DOST-Oriental Mindoro Provincial Director Jesse M. Pine, Nelson B. Gabutero Sr. of Gabutero Organic Farm, Engr. Rogelio D. Madarcos (DAR PARPO II), Keenan Comia (Managing Director of plip.ph), Engr. Delfin Cuevas (CEO of Palatak Seeder), and Engr. Joseph Amiel Camingal (President of Hive Energy PH). Rachel B. Montero of DOST-PSTO Oriental Mindoro also shared insights on the DOST iHUBS initiative.
Demo Day 2025 Winners include:
Champion | Alapaw (₱25,000) – A real-time bus tracking system for safer and smarter commuting.
1st Runner-Up | Vanamei Food Products (₱15,000) – Turmeric-flavored smoked fish in oil, merging tradition with health benefits and gourmet appeal.
2nd Runner-Up | DoroShop (₱10,000) – A local e-commerce platform empowering rural artisans through digital access and secure transactions.
Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President underscored the event’s importance, noting that i-BIBES Demo Day is more than a competition — it is a platform to catalyze innovation, connect communities, and drive regional progress.
