The spirit of innovation burns brightly at Mindoro State University (MinSU) as its startup incubator, MinSU i-BIBES (Innovative Biosystems and Bio-Entrepreneurial Solutions), proudly celebrates the success of two teams from the College of Computer Studies in the DICT MIMAROPA Regional Competition of the Philippine Startup Challenge 10 (PSC 10).

Proving that MinSU’s innovation ecosystem is capable of producing investible, socially relevant, and problem-solving solutions, the two student-led teams showcased their creative and technical prowess in transforming ICT-driven ideas into viable startup ventures. Clinching the 1st Runner Up – Team Binhi (Project: Arbil), with members Neil Franklin S. Echanova, Aerone John P. Grefalda, and Jade Abegail A. Datinguino.

Joining the Regional Qualifiers, Team Croptimist (Project: AgriExpert) with members, Angelica L. Alfonso, Aerone John P. Grefalda, and John Cedric M. Acapulco also put MinSU on the stage.

These innovative projects were born from a shared vision: to develop sustainable digital solutions that address real-world agricultural and environmental challenges—embodying MinSU’s thrust toward community-centered innovation.

According to i-BIBES, the milestone reflects not only the ingenuity of the students but also the growing maturity of MinSU’s startup incubation ecosystem, which continues to nurture young innovators capable of competing at both regional and national levels.

We are incredibly proud of our young entrepreneurs who are turning their ideas into meaningful impact. Their success proves that innovation thrives when purpose meets passion,” said a representative from MinSU i-BIBES.

The Philippine Startup Challenge, spearheaded by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), serves as a platform for young innovators to translate their ICT concepts into functional, scalable business ventures. The competition also aims to strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem by fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological excellence among students.

As the two MinSU teams advance in their startup journeys, the university remains steadfast in its mission to empower local innovators and build a sustainable, tech-driven future for the MIMAROPA region and beyond.
