Mindoro State University (MinSU) has made a remarkable entry in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025, placing 706th out of 1,477 academic institutions from 95 countries.
In the Philippines, MinSU ranked 31st, and proudly secured the 1st place in the MIMAROPA Region an achievement that reflects the University’s growing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings assess institutions based on their environmental policies and sustainable campus initiatives. Using 39 indicators across six key criteria, Setting and Infrastructure (SI), Energy and Climate Change (EC), Waste (WS), Water (WR), Transportation (TR), and Education and Research (ED), the ranking system highlights universities actively contributing to global sustainability efforts.
MinSU’s performance demonstrates its dedication to creating a greener campus and integrating sustainability into its operations, culture, and academic programs.
This milestone would not have been possible without the steadfast leadership of University President, Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol; the support of the Internationalization Department; the hard work of key officials; and the collective efforts of the entire MinSU community and its stakeholders. Their shared commitment to environmental protection, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, and fostering greater awareness of sustainability issues has been essential to this accomplishment.
More than just a global ranking, this achievement strengthens MinSU’s international presence, enhances awareness of sustainability challenges, promotes social engagement and action, and opens new opportunities for collaboration and networking. It serves as both recognition and inspiration, as MinSU continues to build a campus that is not only academically excellent, but also environmentally responsible and globally connected.
