From first entry to major victory: Builders Pandayan rises at Word Cup PH

Builders Pandayan, the official student publication of Mindoro State University (MinSU) - Calapan City Campus, recorded an exceptional debut at the 27th Word Cup Philippines National Journalism Conference and Contest after all 14 of its delegates secured medals in their first participation in the national tilt.

Held on December 6 – 7, 2025, at the National Press Club in Intramuros, Manila, the competition tested participants through Word Cup PH’s “authentic journalism” approach.

The MinSU delegation garnered 23 medals and four Special Citations, marking a strong first showing and positioning Builders Pandayan as a competitor in the national campus journalism arena.

On December 10, the team paid a courtesy visit to University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, who commended their performance and praised their determination amid challenges prior to departure.

Pres. Apostol also reaffirmed the administration’s continued support for student journalists representing the University in external competitions.
