Carrying the theme “Pinning our Commitment: Stepping into the Future of Tourism Management,” the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management from the College of Business and Management marked a significant milestone in the journey of its future tourism professionals as their Fourth Year BSTM students held their Pinning Ceremony on January 16, 2026 at the MinSU Main Campus Auditorium.
The ceremony symbolized the students’ formal transition from classroom learning to real-world industry exposure as they prepare for their On-the-Job Training (OJT) on February to April.
Ms. Liezel M. Romantico, BSTM Program Chairperson, underscored the heart of the tourism profession in her inspirrational message.
“Ang tourism industry ay para sa mga taong may passion for service... Dalhin ninyo ang mga learnings and values like professionalism, teamwork and collaboration. Stay humble, stay passionate and always strive for excellence,” she emphasized.
Dr. Christian B. Apostol, MinSU Main Campus Executive Director, also fueled the students' drive for their OJT Program as he reminded them of values needed for a successful internship.
The students showcased their readiness for the field through a well-executed Flight Attendant Safety Demonstration and Tour Guiding Demonstration, highlighting not only technical competence but also confidence, communication skills, and professionalism—core qualities of effective tourism practitioners.
The highlight of the ceremony was the Dedication and Pinning Ceremony, led by Ms. May Ann M. Mangurali, BSTM OJT Coordinator, followed by the Oath Taking Ceremony administered by Ms. Romantico.
A total of 88 BSTM students were formally pinned, joined by their parents and guardians, making the moment both professional and deeply personal.
