The Mindoro State University (MinSU) community joined Catholic faithful today, February 18, in observing Ash Wednesday, marking the sacred beginning of the Lenten season.
Students, faculty, and staff came together to receive ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross - a central rite of Ash Wednesday that embodies repentance and reflection. The ash cross serves as a gentle reminder of human fragility and a call to renew both heart and mind.
Ash Wednesday also signals the start of 40 days of prayer, fasting, and introspection leading up to Easter. It invites everyone to pause, reflect on their lives, and strengthen their spiritual journey.
As the Lenten season unfolds, the MinSU community is encouraged to embrace these weeks of reflection and renewal, carrying forward a spirit of humility, compassion, and shared purpose.
