Mindoro State University (MinSU) community came together early today, February 23, for a fun run that officially launched two major celebrations: the 5th Year Anniversary of MinSU as a University and the 26th Founding Anniversary of MinSU Calapan Laboratory High School.
Carrying the theme “MinSU Trot: Stronger Together, Faster as One,” the activity marked the opening of the university’s anniversary festivities. At the same time, the Laboratory High School began its week-long celebration under the theme “LabHigh Soar High: Together We Rise, Together We Shine,” which will continue until Friday, February 27.
The fun run was spearheaded by the MinSU Laboratory High School, the MinSU Faculty and Employees Association (MinSUFEA), and the University Student Government of MinSU Calapan. Participants included LabHigh parents and students, college students, faculty members, and other members of the university community.
The event brought together different generations within the campus, with parents running alongside their children and college students joining high school learners on the same route. More than a physical activity, the run symbolized a shared beginning for two milestone celebrations.
Following the race, a hydro activity added energy to the morning program, giving participants a refreshing and interactive close to the opening event.
The fun run also signals the start of a series of activities lined up for both anniversaries. For the Laboratory High School, highlights of the celebration include the much-anticipated Mr. and Ms. LabHigh and the Promenade, events that showcase student talent, confidence, and school spirit.
Meanwhile, MinSU’s 5th Year Anniversary will feature various events hosted by the Calapan City Campus, reinforcing the university’s growth and continued service to the academic community.
As the celebrations unfold in the coming days, the opening fun run set the tone, grounded in unity, participation, and a collective sense of moving forward together. (marm)
