Strengthening its international academic linkages, Mindoro State University (MinSU), through its Research, Innovation, Technology, and Extension (RITE) Department, conducted an initial partnership meeting with the Swiss Institute of Management and Sciences (SIMS) via Zoom on March 13, 2026.

The meeting was led by OIC-Vice President Leonel Mendoza through the University’s Research, Innovation, Technology, and Extension (RITE) Department. It served as a platform to introduce MinSU’s key programs and priorities, particularly its strong focus on research excellence, innovation, and community engagement.

Directors from the University’s research, extension, and innovation units shared their experiences, ongoing initiatives, and flagship programs. More than presenting accomplishments, the discussion reflected MinSU’s continuing efforts to make research more relevant, ethical, and responsive to community needs.

Representing SIMS, Lilly Loung welcomed the opportunity for collaboration and expressed interest in working with MinSU on several initiatives. These include co-organizing international conferences, conducting training programs on research ethics and integrity, and partnering in community-based extension activities involving students and local stakeholders.

An open forum allowed both institutions to exchange ideas in a more relaxed and meaningful way, setting a positive tone for future engagements.

VP Mendoza described the meeting as a promising first step toward building a long-term partnership grounded in shared goals. With this initiative, MinSU continues to strengthen its international connections while staying true to its mission of advancing knowledge and empowering communities. (jdtdc)
