MALATE, Manila — Mindoro State University (MinSU) continues to scale up its commitment to academic excellence as its key officials participated in the 39th Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Annual National Conference and General Assembly held at the Century Park Hotel, Malate, Manila on March 24-26, 2026.
With the theme “Advancing Quality Assurance (QA): Research, Science, and Technology for Transformative Education and Sustainable Development,” the three-day event gathered SUC Presidents, QA directors, and faculty members from across the country to harmonize quality systems with global standards.
Representing MinSU were Ms. Portia Angelica B. Abog, Director for Quality Assurance, Dr. Salcedo B. Tanguid Jr., Dean, College of Criminal Justice Education, and Ms. Emma Vida R. Liwanag, OIC-Dean, College of Business and Management, and Ms. Mary Ann Royo, OIC-Institute Head, Institute of Fisheries.
According to Ms. Abog, the University’s participation is a strategic move to boost its institutional performance and cultivate a "quality culture" that resonates throughout its campuses.
“Our goal is to stay ahead of the curve. By strengthening our understanding of national and international QA frameworks, we ensure that MinSU graduates are not only locally competitive but globally recognized,” she stated.
The conference served as a venue for advancing innovations in teaching and learning through research and technology, strengthening partnerships among SUCs and QA stakeholders, and promoting interdisciplinary approaches aligned with sustainable development goals. It also facilitated the generation of policy insights to support ongoing reforms in the Philippine higher education sector.
Through this, MinSU reinforces its drive toward continuous improvement and the enhancement of its accreditation status, ensuring that its programs remain at par with the highest standards of the education sector. (jdtdc)
