The Mindoro State University (MinSU) has reached another milestone in its pursuit of innovation and technological advancement as its Innovative Business Incubator for Biosystems Solutions (i-BIBES) is now officially registered with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL).

The registration of the MinSU i-BIBES logo marks a significant achievement for the University’s Office of Innovation, reinforcing the identity and institutional protection of one of MinSU’s flagship platforms for research translation, technology commercialization, and enterprise development.

Engr. Randy A. Joco, Director for Innovation said the recognition strengthens the formal standing of i-BIBES as a hub for nurturing innovation-driven initiatives, particularly in biosystems solutions that address local and regional development challenges.

As MinSU’s designated Technology Business Incubator, i-BIBES plays a vital role in bridging academic research and real-world application, ensuring that innovations generated within the university are transformed into viable products, services, and community-based enterprises.

Beyond intellectual property protection, the initiative reflects MinSU’s broader commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive development through innovation and technopreneurship. It also aims to enhance collaboration between researchers, students, industry partners, and local communities.

The program continues to support startups and emerging innovators by providing access to mentorship, capacity-building activities, and technology transfer opportunities, fostering an ecosystem where ideas can grow into impactful and scalable solutions.

Anchored on its core thrusts, i-BIBES promotes innovation and technopreneurship, sustainable development, research utilization, community empowerment, industry collaboration, and capacity-building for future entrepreneurs.

With its IPOPHL registration, MinSU i-BIBES is expected to further strengthen its role as a catalyst for innovation in Mindoro and the MIMAROPA region, aligning with the university’s mission of producing research-driven solutions that contribute to national development. (jdtdc)
