Starting from a simple idea-turned innovation about a real-time bus-tracking system, now, this innovation takes one step closer to real-world application after the university facilitated a partnership discussion between startup ALAPAW and Yellow Mega Transport Services Corporation.
The engagement, led by the MinSU i-BIBES (Innovative Business Incubator for Biosystems Solutions) Team, provided ALAPAW the opportunity to present its real-time transport monitoring solution and explore how the technology can be integrated into actual transport operations.
Through the discussion with Yellow Mega, a transport service corporation with routes from Calapan City to Bulalacao and vice versa, both parties examined potential areas of collaboration and the practical use of digital technologies in enhancing public transport operations.
Looking at the bright future awaiting this exploration, this partnership can change the system of public transport in Oriental Mindoro, making it more accessible for commuters, especially since the Calapan City-Bulalacao route stands as the longest public route with a dedicated transport service provider.
For ALAPAW, the meeting opens doors to possible partnerships that could accelerate the adoption of its technology. For MinSU, it reinforces the role of higher education institutions not only as centers of learning and research but also as drivers of innovation and economic development.
