Faculty members, staff and employees of Mindoro State University (MinSU) attended a seminar on the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace on August 25, 2026, at the University Auditorium, MinSU-Victoria (Main) Campus.

Titled “AI and the Future of Work: Promoting Ethical and Responsible Use in the Workplace,” the session aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of AI technologies, their practical applications and the responsibilities involved in using them.

Mr. Danreb L. Polinag served as the resource speaker, explaining how AI systems process data, recognize patterns and perform tasks such as speech recognition, image analysis and content generation.

He also discussed generative AI and its potential to improve workplace productivity and creativity, while cautioning against risks such as misinformation, algorithmic bias, overdependence on AI tools, and data privacy and security concerns.

Polinag urged participants to verify AI-generated information and observe ethical principles such as transparency, fairness, accountability and personal data protection. An interactive discussion further highlighted the importance of user consent and safeguarding personal information.

The activity was part of MinSU-Victoria (Main) Campus’ 75th Founding Anniversary celebration, highlighting the university’s efforts to keep its personnel informed about emerging technologies and their implications for the workplace. (rgg)
