Fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) students of Mindoro State University (MinSU) presented technology-driven startup concepts during TECHNOVATE: BSABE Technopreneurship 101 Demo Day on May 28, 2026, at the second floor of the ASTEER Building, Main Campus.
Anchored on the theme “Cultivating Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Technologies,” the event featured seven student groups showcasing prototypes designed to address challenges in agriculture, food systems, digital services and other technology-based industries.
The projects — Junk Link, ChanceXChange, Libastify, HANDA, Balahi-Boost, iServe, and Squash in Snap — were presented before a panel of evaluators, including Ms. Jan Elleah Gasmeña, Engr. Manilyn Joco, Dr. Dominic Horlador, and members of the MinSU iBIBES.
The presentations demonstrated the students’ application of research, engineering principles and entrepreneurial concepts in developing solutions to practical social and environmental concerns.
The Demo Day also highlighted the role of technopreneurship in equipping students with the skills to develop technology-based business ventures, assess market opportunities and translate academic concepts into practical applications.
Through the activity, MinSU provided students with a platform to present their work, receive feedback from evaluators and explore the potential of their projects as sustainable enterprises. (rgg)
