With enrollment for Academic Year 2026–2027 set to begin on June 22, Mindoro State University (MinSU) has laid out the procedures, requirements, and support services students need to complete to secure their admission and registration for the upcoming semester.
During a recent discussion on MinSU TV Campus Connect, University Registrar Esperanza A. Maminta provided a comprehensive guide to the enrolment process for incoming freshmen, transferees, and returnees, while also addressing frequently asked questions about student records and credential requests.
Following the release of entrance examination results, successful applicants are expected to undergo several steps before officially securing their slots in the University. Central to the process is the Admission and Enrolment Tracer Form, which serves as a guide and monitoring document throughout the enrolment journey.
Maminta explained that incoming freshmen must first secure the tracer form from the Admissions Office before proceeding to the second-level screening conducted by their respective colleges and institutes. Applicants who pass the screening are then required to undergo medical examination and submit the necessary documents for verification.
Once cleared, applicants proceed through the Registrar’s Office and Accounting Office before receiving their Certificate of Registration (COR), which serves as proof of enrolment and contains their enrolled subjects and class schedule for the semester.
To complete the enrolment process, applicants are required to submit original copies of their Form 138, Certificate of Good Moral Character, PSA or NSO Birth Certificate, and 2x2 ID picture. Maminta emphasized that these documents must bear the appropriate signatures and certifications from the issuing authorities to ensure smooth verification.
She also reminded applicants that while MinSU strictly implements the No Collection Policy under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act for eligible students, compliance with all enrolment requirements remains mandatory.
Apart from facilitating enrolment, the Registrar’s Office also manages the University's student portal, which serves as the primary platform for student records management, class schedules, grade viewing, faculty evaluations, and future enrolment transactions. Maminta encouraged students to keep their portal accounts accessible and regularly updated, as the system plays a crucial role in monitoring their academic records throughout their stay in the University.
For transferees, the Registrar’s Office conducts an assessment of academic records to determine transferable credits and identify any prerequisite subjects that may still need to be completed. Returnees, meanwhile, undergo curriculum evaluation to determine the courses they need to take based on the University's current academic requirements.
Maminta likewise clarified that students are generally expected to enroll in the degree program for which they qualified during the admissions process. Requests for shifting to another program may only be entertained after the completion of the first semester and remain subject to evaluation by the concerned college and the Admissions Office.
Beyond enrolment concerns, the Registrar’s Office continues to provide a range of services related to academic records and credentials. These include the issuance of transcripts of records, diplomas, transfer credentials, certified true copies, and Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CAV) documents.
Students and graduates requesting credentials are required to submit the necessary forms and supporting documents. While certified true copies may be processed within the day upon presentation of original documents, requests for transcripts, diplomas, replacement diplomas, and CAV documents typically require several days to complete due to verification and approval procedures.
As enrolment activities continue across MinSU campuses, Maminta urged applicants and students to prepare their requirements ahead of time, ensure access to their student portal accounts, and follow the schedules issued by their respective colleges and offices.
By streamlining enrolment procedures and strengthening student support services, the University aims to provide a more efficient and accessible enrolment experience for all MinSUans as preparations for the new academic year move forward.
