Mindoro State University (MinSU) through the Office of Alumni Relations, clarified key details surrounding its highly anticipated Grand Alumni Homecoming, addressing frequently asked questions on participation, registration, activities, and logistical arrangements as excitement builds among alumni across generations.

During the second episode of MinSU TV Campus Connect aired live on February 23, 2026, Mr. Jonbert M. Caoli, Director for Alumni Relations encouraged MinSU alumni to take part in what he described as more than just a reunion, but a celebration of shared identity, memories, and continued commitment to the University.

"This is our opportunity to reconnect—not only with our classmates and professors, but also with the institution that became part of who we are," Mr. Caoli said.

The Grand Alumni Homecoming will be held in three campuses to coincide with their respective anniversary celebrations. The Calapan City Campus will host the first leg on June 20, 2026 during its 65th Anniversary Celebration, followed by the Main Campus in Victoria on August 22,2026 as part of MinSU's Diamond Jubilee or 75th Anniversary, and the Bongabong Campus on September 19, 2026 in celebration of its 62nd Anniversary.

One of the most common concerns raised by alumni was eligibility to attend. The Office of Alumni Relations clarified that the homecoming is open to all graduates, regardless of the institution's name during their time as students.

Whether they graduated during the MINAS, MCAT, MinSCAT, CSAT, PCC, BSF, or BCF eras, alumni are welcome to participate in the celebration. Graduates of high school and graduate studies programs are likewise considered part of the University's alumni community.

The discussion also addressed concerns regarding guests and family members. While spouses, partners, and family members may accompany alumni, organizers emphasized that priority in terms of provisions and accommodations will be given to registered alumni, considering the event's resource limitations.

Apart from rekindling friendships and revisiting campus memories, Mr. Caoli underscored the value of the homecoming as an avenue for professional networking, mentorship, and giving back to the University. The Office of Alumni Relations also assured alumni residing outside Oriental Mindoro—or even outside the country—that they can still participate in meaningful ways. Those unable to attend physically may support the event through sponsorships, avail of official anniversary merchandise, or join the celebration virtually through livestreams on the University's official platforms.

For alumni who have lost contact with their batchmates over the years, the University has established several channels to help reconnect them. They may join the "MinSU Alumni (All Campuses)" Facebook Group, coordinate with designated batch representatives and campus alumni officers, or accomplish the online registration form, which organizers will use to identify and cluster alumni from the same graduating classes.

To streamline preparations, MinSU has adopted a digital registration process. Interested participants may register through the University's online hub by providing basic information, including their graduation year and campus affiliation.

Although there is no registration fee for the Grand Alumni Homecoming, participants are encouraged to support the University's income-generating initiatives through the purchase of the official anniversary shirt worth PhP 500.00. Organizers explained that proceeds from the shirt project will help fund various aspects of the celebration while also supporting future alumni-related initiatives. Each anniversary shirt also serves as an entry to the event's grand raffle.

Accepted payment methods include bank transfers and over-the-counter transactions through the Alumni Relations Offices in Victoria, Calapan City, and Bongabong campuses. Organizers advised the participants to complete their shirt purchases ahead of their chosen homecoming dates to facilitate production and logistical preparations.

Meanwhile, the Office clarified that payments for anniversary shirts are non-refundable since the items are processed immediately upon confirmation. Those who may no longer be able to attend may still claim their shirts through authorized representatives or arrange for delivery.

The University also acknowledged the possibility of accommodating on-site participants. However, those who register in advance will be prioritized for shirts and event provisions.

Beyond the reunion itself, organizers revealed that each campus celebration is expected to feature a parade or motorcade, university-wide gatherings led by alumni associations, opportunities to elect new alumni officers, and college-based activities where graduates can reconnect with their former departments, faculty members, and classmates.

Batches are likewise encouraged to prepare presentations showcasing their creativity and camaraderie, reinforcing the spirit of fellowship that the homecoming seeks to promote.

As preparations continue, MinSU urged alumni to monitor official announcements and coordinate with their batch representatives to ensure a smooth and memorable experience.

Mr. Caoli ended the discussion with a simple invitation to fellow MinSUans: "Uwi na tayo."

"Let us see this not merely as a celebration, but as an opportunity to strengthen our ties and build a legacy for future generations of MinSUans," he said.
