Mindoro State University (MinSU) strengthened its standing in global sustainability rankings, climbing to 624th out of 2,016 institutions worldwide in the 2026 UI GreenMetric Sustainable World University Rankings.
The latest ranking marks a significant improvement from MinSU’s 706th global position in 2025, representing an advance of 82 places in the worldwide ranking.
MinSU also improved its national standing, moving from 31st to 28th among 130 participating Philippine higher education institutions. It likewise retained its position as the top-ranked university in the MIMAROPA region.
The results reflect the University’s continuing efforts to integrate sustainability into its institutional operations, infrastructure, education, research, and community engagement.
The UI GreenMetric Sustainable World University Rankings, initiated by Universitas Indonesia, assesses universities based on their sustainability practices and commitments across areas such as setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education and research.
For MinSU, the improved ranking provides an international benchmark for its ongoing sustainability initiatives and institutional development efforts.
The University’s progress also comes as it expands its participation in global university rankings and international assessment platforms as part of its broader drive to strengthen its global visibility and institutional performance.
From 706th globally in 2025 to 624th in 2026, MinSU’s latest UI GreenMetric result adds to its growing presence in international rankings while maintaining its leadership position within MIMAROPA.
