MinSUFACCo shares a bowl of kindness with students, dormers

Sometimes, the simplest gestures make the biggest difference. Through Share a Bowl: Nourish to Flourish, the MinSU Main Campus Faculty Association Cooperative (MinSUFACCo) served free soup and bread to students and dormers at MinSU-Victoria (Main) Campus on October 15, sharing not just a meal but also a little comfort and kindness.

A warm bowl of soup and a piece of bread may seem simple, but for students trying to make the most of their daily allowance, it can mean a lot.

This was the idea behind “Share a Bowl: Nourish to Flourish,” a feeding initiative of the Mindoro State University Main Campus Faculty Association Cooperative (MinSUFACCo) for students and dormers at the MinSU-Victoria (Main) Campus on October 15, 2026.

Held in celebration of National Cooperative Month, the activity offered free soup and bread to students, giving them a chance to enjoy a warm meal without having to spend from their daily budget.

According to Dr. Pinky B. Carig, President of MinSUFACCo, the initiative was the cooperative’s way of showing care for students and helping ease some of their daily expenses so they could focus more on their studies. It was also an opportunity for the cooperative to give back to the university community.

For the students who stopped by, the gesture was a welcome treat. Some appreciated the initiative for reminding them that people in the university care about their well-being, while others were grateful for the savings, especially when every peso in their allowance counts.

With soup and bread available while supplies lasted, students could also return for another serving if they were still hungry.

The initiative also complemented Project HAPAG, launched by MinSU President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol to help address students’ food needs and support their well-being.

To reduce waste, students were encouraged to bring their own food containers, making the activity not only a gesture of care but also an opportunity to practice sustainability.

Anchored on this year’s National Cooperative Month theme, “Matibay na Kooperatiba: Nagkakaisang Pamayanan para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran,” the activity showed how cooperation can take shape through simple acts of care - one bowl at a time. (jdtdc)
