Mindoro State University (MinSU) continues to elevate its international footprint as it joined the 9th Annual General Meeting and International Conference of the 14th Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Partners' Meeting held at Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta, from November 19–23, 2025.
Representing MinSU was Dr. Ciedelle P. Salazar, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, who participated actively in discussions and collaborative engagements with fellow ASEAN higher education institutions. She was accompanied by former CHED Commissioner Ethel Agnes P. Valenzuela, who served as a Keynote Plenary Session Speaker, delivering an insightful presentation on ASEAN Trends on AI Education and ASEAN AI Council Introduction—a timely discourse as the region accelerates its collective efforts on digital transformation.
The conference brought together academic leaders, educators, and researchers across Southeast Asia for a series of high-level plenary and panel sessions. Key discussions centered on emerging themes such as the ASEAN Guide on AI Governance and Ethics, Strategic Leadership and Governance in the AI Era, Empowering ASEAN Students with AI, and Advancing AI Research and Pedagogy in ASEAN Universities. These exchanges provided vital perspectives for strengthening institutional readiness and crafting forward-looking policies in an evolving AI-driven landscape.
MinSU’s participation in this international gathering underscores the University’s steadfast commitment to internationalization—expanding its collaborations, deepening cross-border academic partnerships, and aligning with global standards in higher education. By actively engaging in regional platforms like P2A, MinSU reinforces its mission to bring internationally informed, future-ready education and services to its students and communities.
As MinSU continues to strengthen its global engagement, it positions itself not only as a contributor to regional academic discourse but as a competitive, internationally connected institution dedicated to excellence, innovation, and inclusive development.
