Mindoro State University Victoria Campus marked ASEAN Month with a vibrant celebration of solidarity, cultural appreciation, and public service, highlighted by an ASEAN-inspired parade and program at the University Auditorium.
With the theme, "Navigating our Future, Together," the celebration brought together MinSU personnel dressed in ASEAN-inspired attire, turning the campus into a display of Southeast Asian culture and unity. More than a showcase of colors and creativity, the activity underscored the University’s place in a region built on cooperation, diversity, and shared aspirations.
The festivities also featured the Best in ASEAN-Inspired Attire competition, with categories for permanent and non-permanent personnel, and separate male and female divisions. Mr. Jonbert Caoli, Assistant Professor I and Dr. Nora Cabaral-Lasaca, Associate Professor IV bagged the title for the permanent category, while Mr. Lexis Casabar, Faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and Ms. Carla Manalo, Faculty from the College of Agriculture and Allied Fields (CAAF). The mini competition gave employees an avenue to express cultural appreciation while strengthening camaraderie across the University community.
Coinciding with the celebration was the observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, highlighting the vital role of public servants in advancing responsive, ethical, and people-centered governance.
For MinSU, the celebration goes beyond wearing ASEAN-inspired attire or commemorating milestones. It reinforces a shared responsibility: to build a university community that values diversity, works together across boundaries, and serves with purpose.
As MinSU continues to expand its role in the region, the celebration serves as a reminder that global and regional engagement begins with a simple commitment—to serve, collaborate, and move forward together. (kpic)
