The South Luzon Innovation and Technology Transfer Summit (SLITT) 2026 highlighted linkages between industry representatives during the first day of the summit, wherein MinSU expanded its reach in innovation and technology transfer as it signed a Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA) and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with industry partners, October 8, 2026 at the Calapan City Convention Center.
MinSU signed the TLA with Connorstone Construction Development and Supplies Corporation for the commercialization of Project MOSES powered by GENESIS, granting Connerstone a non-transferable license to fabricate, market and commercialize MinSU’s Project MOSES powered by GENESIS.
The University also signed a MOA with DOST-MIMAROPA, joined together with the Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC) and Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) for the adoption of Rezbin, an innovative waste management technology where it aims to upgrade waste recycling by incentivizing the efforts through a point system mechanism.
Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President, joined Dr. Bernardo N. Sepeda, DOST-MIMAROPA Regional Director; Dir. Emelita P. Bagsit, DOST-CALABARZON Regional Director; Engr. Romelen T. Tresvalles, DOST-NCR Regional Director; Dr. Enrico C. Paringit, Professor 10 at UP Diliman; Dr. Jose Elvinia, Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Secretariat; and Mr. Armand Tristan R. Suratos, Director, APO DAP Secretariat, APO Liaison Officer for the Philippines, during the Press Conference where they discussed key points about the event - the long term goal of the conduct of the summit, collaboration with and support of LGUs and opportunities for MSMEs.
On the question of how the LGUs stand in support of the innovation and technology initiatives by the DOST and other line agencies, Dr. Sepeda underscored the importance of the LGUs’ support in implementing and adopting innovation and technology initiatives to be able to alleviate the community’s problems. He also reiterated that because it is not within their mandate to provide funding allocation directly to LGUs, it would be better if LGUs partner with State Universities and Colleges (SUC), and through them, lobby technology projects for funding assistance.
Meanwhile, Engr. Christian B. Hernandez, Project Leader of Project MOSES opened the floor for questions from industry partners and leaders during the open forum session of the event as one of the speakers. As one of the pioneers of the Project MOSES, he brought upon the need of innovating new technologies and enhancing existing ones about climate technology to help with environmental protection and conservation.
