"Where Problems Meet Solutions: Catalyzing Technology Transfer and Commercialization in South Luzon"
Admin    Oct. 09, 2026

Turning research and ideas into opportunities for collaboration, Mindoro State University presented three innovation projects during the Technology Pitching Session of the South Luzon innovation and Technology Transfer Summit (SLITTS) at the Calapan City Convention Center.

Engr. Fernando A. Paralejas, Jr., MinSU KTTO, presented Quick Grains Beef Arroz Caldo, a ready-to-eat meal inspired by the MREs (Meal, Ready-to-Eat) food from the military; Turmeric-Flavored Smoked Fish in Oil, a preserved smoked fish in a jar seasoned with turmeric and other spices; and eH2O, a smart aquaculture and water quality management system, to a panel of industry and technology representatives for possible linkages, adoption, and partnerships.

MinSU’s participation opens opportunities to connect these innovations with potential partners who can help bring them closer to practical application and wider use. The session featured seven technology pitchers from various state universities and colleges, government offices, and private organizations.

The summit also marked the transition of hosting duties for SLITTS 2027 to DOST-CALABARZON, as Dr. Bernardo N. Sepeda, DOST-MIMAROPA Regional Director, formally passed the baton through a Ramit-woven lei—a meaningful gesture honoring local craftsmanship and regional collaboration.

As MinSU continues to advance innovation, the goal goes beyond developing ideas: it is about building partnerships that can turn them into solutions with real-world value. (kpic)
